Research Interests: satellite communications, optical communications, communication systems.

Professor Gagliardi joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California in 1961. He has taught courses in the area of communication system design, noise theory, digital communications, laser communications, and satellite electronics and architectures. Dr. Gagliardi has published seven textbooks and more than 90 journal and conference papers. A Fellow of the IEEE, he has served as a consultant to both industry and governmental agencies.
